FIRST YEAR BENCHMARKS

All first-year students attending Mercer County Career Center will be evaluated using Benchmarks. Benchmarks are an indicator of future success in the field and for further training.

MCCC Salon Services

Cosmetology Student

Learn techniques to provide precision haircuts, perms, chemical relaxing, braiding, manicures, pedicures, facials, and various hair coloring techniques.

Earn 1,250 hours and become eligible for Pennsylvania state licensure. *(Must attend program for 3 years and maintain good attendance to be eligible for state testing.)

Courses of Study

  • Make-Up Techniques

  • Cutting, Hair Designing, and Braiding

  • Perming and Straightening

  • Coloring

  • Manicuring/Pedicuring

Industry Certifications

Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology License

Class Requirements

Students are responsible for:

  • Student kit
