In Electronics Technology students are working on a variety of projects this week including building a digital logic trainer, a digital clock circuit, and using IPC 610 soldering standards. The opportunity to build or fix something is always available with Electronics!
Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Morgan Popielarcheck. Morgan is a Senior from Jamestown High School and was selected by her Early Childhood Education Instructor, Ms. Edmiston. Morgan has good attendance and she always goes above and beyond to assist other students ensuring a good experience for the preschoolers. She pursues every opportunity offered. She is a competitor in the District 10 Skills USA Competition. She provides quality childcare in her community and volunteers to mentor younger students. Morgan completed her Child Development Associate (CDA) portfolio in one year. She has maintained high grades, attended the ECE advisory meeting, and helped with the spring orientation for new students. She is very involved in volleyball with Jamestown High School and a travel team. Morgan has been accepted at Thiel College in the Early Childhood Education department and plans to continue playing volleyball in college.

Today was show and tell and center day in Early Childhood Education for the preschoolers. Each preschooler brought in something to share with their classmates. Today was also center day for the preschoolers where a high school student led an activity. Such a fun day!
Centers are the theme today in Early Childhood Education. Each high school teacher creates a center and they decide what modifications to make over 2 weeks to develop the best activity for the preschoolers. Today’s topic was winter. The preschoolers really enjoyed the centers!!
Today’s lesson in Early Childhood Education was about ice. They watched a video and went through the scholastic that matched the lesson. Morgan Popielarcheck, a Senior from Jamestown, did a movement lesson with the preschoolers. Everyone really enjoyed the lessons today!!
Early Childhood Education high school students have more daily activities for one-on-one time with their preschoolers.
The preschoolers really enjoy their one-on-one time with a high school student. Preschoolers play games, paint, work on their letters, and color. One-on-one time offers more attention, structure, and formal education to each child. Awesome Job Everyone!!
Preschoolers are paired with a high school teacher for one-on-one time in our Early Childhood Education program. Preschoolers learn new words and sounds every day. Today’s dance was the chicken dance. This program is filled with learning and fun!!
Maddy Corbin, a Senior from Grove City, leads circle time with our Early Childhood Education class. Maddy starts off with the Pledge of Allegiance, goes over the days of the week, and preschoolers dance. Preschoolers also take a break for snack time.
It is multicultural week in our Early Childhood Education program. Marissa McLaughlin, a Senior from Lakeview, talks to preschoolers about Jamaica. They learn about the Caribbean Island, food, and even play a game called Dandy Shandy. This is a great way to begin the New Year!
Lucas Erwin, a Mercer High School Senior in our Automotive Technology program, is part of our Cooperative Education program. Lucas works at Valvoline Express Care in Grove City. Lucas detects suspension problems, engine drive concerns, tire wear problems and brake concerns. Great Work Lucas!!

Charles does a fantastic job of staying on task in class, turning his work in on time, being respectful of both his peers and his teachers, and he volunteers to answer questions in class. Lance works on suspension, steering, and drive line troubleshooting. Lance also works with electrical systems as well as analyzing and interpreting schematics. Awesome Job Lance!!
Niveen Kanan, a Sharon Senior in our Culinary Arts program, is part of our Cooperative Education program. Niveen works at The Simple Greek in Hermitage. Niveen practices safety and sanitation as well as purchasing, receiving and storage. Niveen also works with cooking and baking, dining room services, and front of the house operations. Nice Work Niveen!!

Dylan Bertolasio, a Sharpsville Senior in our Automotive Technology program, is part of our Cooperative Education program. Dylan works at PJ’s Auto in West Middlesex. Dylan detects brake, suspension, and tire wear issues. He also is training on alignments and ABS functions. Awesome Job Dylan!!
Dale Reiser, a Lakeview Senior in our Automotive Technology program, is part of our Cooperative Education program. Dale works at Fredonia Tire where he identifies brake, suspension, and vibration concerns. He also repairs and replaces suspension parts, brake components, and engine parts and sensors. Way to go Dale!!

For the sixth year in a row, National Technical Honor Society once again collected a large load of toys and cash donations for the annual Toys for Tots campaign in Mercer County.
