
A student in Innovation & Entrepreneurial Development built and printed a soccer ball on our 3D Printer. 3D Printing is the process of making a physical object from a three dimensional digital model. Below are the images of the process.




Innovation & Entrepreneurial Development students work on creating a design of a hopscotch game for our Early Childhood Education class using Adobe Photoshop. The design will then be printed on our vinyl printer and installed on their classroom floor.


Here is a finished car wrapped in its entirety that instructors Corey Sherman and Stephanie Schneider helped to create! Look for some amazing creations in the upcoming months at MCCC.

MCCC was proud to host PA State Representative Ted Nesbit and staff as he met with area seniors for an informational breakfast at the Career Center. MCCC Culinary Arts Students provided the breakfast buffet.

Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Steven Varano. Steve is a Senior from Jamestown High School and was selected by his Welding Instructor, Mr. Gilhousen. Steve is a second year student and he is very respectful and always on task. Steve is a leader in the class and is always willing to help other students succeed. Steve currently works for the Jamestown Marina and plans to work in the welding field after graduation.

Light up your future in the Welding program!! Students practice industry specific types of welding including tig aluminum welding and mig bend tests. Students also work on prepping plates with a grinder and cutting steel plates for a welding project.


Congratulations to our MCCC STRIVE Student of the Week – Grayson Denny. Grayson is a Senior from Mercer High School and was selected by his Protective Services Instructor, Mr. Carter. Grayson is a second year student this year and an officer in the class. Grayson is working on completion of his Eagle Scout Award and he has joined the United States Air Force. He plans to leave in August for basic training.

Today, 120 Mercer County Career Center students attended Manufacturing Day in Erie PA. They were joined by 2,000 other students from Western Pennsylvania!


During Manufacturing Day 2019, MCCC students experience high-tech exhibits and interactive demonstrations which include 3D printing, robotics, CNC machining, drone technology and much more!!





The Patrick R. Locco Scholarship was awarded to Cole Simpson, a senior from Grove City, in our Welding program. Cole’s family and instructor, Mr. Gilhousen, joined him in Erie, PA today during Manufacturing Day to share in his accomplishment! Congratulations Cole!!!





Protective Services students patrol the hallways checking fire extinguishers and lockers to keep MCCC safe. Another group of students learn the importance of water supply in their turnout gear for fire safety.



Navy Recruiters stopped into Protective Services today! Steve Ware and Keshia Fulmer are Navy Recruiters who met with Zachary Gramsky, a senior from Reynolds and Jesse Johnston, a senior from Jamestown. Both students are working with the Navy and exploring possibilities.

Protective Services is highlighted this week with students practicing physical training (PT) to meet entry level requirements for the police academy and the military. Students also work on implementing the In-Synch Records Management System for law enforcement at MCCC.

Mercer County Career Center celebrates the 50th Anniversary of our Practical Nursing program. PA State Senator Michelle Brooks, State Representative Ted Nesbit, and Mercer County Commissioners Timothy McGonigle and Scott Boyd joined alumni and current students of the program for presentations of official proclamations and refreshments.
